30 Rock may have over submitted in the Directing Category where it could split some votes. (It seems The Office did the same thing Submitting 12 in both writing and directing… should be interesting in July.)
The writing category looks solid. I too was torn between Robert Carlock submitting Apollo, Apollo VS Belive in the Stars but either way those episodes are winners. Interesting that Tina only submitting an episode she Co-wrote. Nice to see her stepping aside a touch and putting the spotlight on her writers.
I wish Bobb’e J Thompson had a chance at getting nominated.
Go Jane Krakowski Go!

Okay, here’s my over-analysis:
30 Rock is locked for these nominations:
Comedy Series
Lead Actor
Lead Actress
Supporting Actress [yes. it’s a lock now.]
Writing for Reunion plus one or two more
Directing for something
Editing for something
At least 3 guest nominations
Casting
Art Direction
Sound
Could happen:
Supporting Actor for Tracy [i really wish both jack and tracy would get nods, but realistically only tracy will be nominated if anyone.]
Guest nominations:
I see Alan Alda getting in just for the name. I wouldn’t personally nominate him, though.
Oprah SHOULD be in. She didn’t play herself. Technically.
Steve Martin will get in. Rightfully so.
Salma Hayek and Elaine Stritch are locks, too.
And PRAY that Bobb’e J. Thompson gets in.
Writing:
For reasons unbeknownst to me, Believe in the Stars is not up for nomination. Which is sad. I’m giving the other nominations to Christmas Special [not the strongest episode, but Tina wrote it] and Apollo Apollo.
So, in conclusion, 30 Rock ends up with about 16 or 17 nominations. Just like last year.
Fingers crossed!

Oh, and Tina’s a lock for guest actress for SNL! And I think she could win easily.

I’m kinda bummed that Believe in the Stars wasn’t submitted but I think the writing for Apollo,Apollo was some of the best for the year so that’s a good pick.
I’m going to predict that Apollo,Apollo and Christmas Special will get writing noms.

if jon hamm or chris parnell got nominated, best day EVER!!!! also jane krakowski should totally be nominated and win!!!

That’s a pretty great analysis Noah. I’m thinking mostly the same things myself.
Guest acting wise:
Alda
Martin
(Hopefully Arnett, maybe Hamm.)
I’d die of happiness if Parnell, Winters, or Thompson got nominated.
Guest actress:
Hayek
Stritch
(I’d say Aniston or Oprah just for their names as well, but Tina in the Guest Actress race is definately taking up a spot.)
Writing:
Reunion
Apollo Apollo
(Believe in the Stars wasn’t submitted because you can only submit 1 episode per writer or writing combo. Carlock went with Apollo Apollo, which actually might be better written though I think Believe in the Stars might be more funny.)
Christmas Special could get in just for Tina Fey’s name, and being a pretty decent episode.
Directing… Eesh.
Too many. Though I’m sure McCarthy will get in for Reunion, she’s rather popular and that episode was fantastic. Possibly Buscemi for Retreat to Move Forward. I hope/wish Scardino could get in too.

Wait!!!!!!!!!! Where is ‘Believe in the stars’ in the writing nominations. Its a sure win for Robert Carlock. I totally thought it was a funnier ep. than Mama Mia.
