30 Rock wins WGA Award!

February 10, 2008

30 Rock won the Writers Guild Award for best Comedy series! And really I don’t think there’s been a show ever more deserving. Here’s a link to all the winners. Congrats to Tina Fey, Brett Baer, Jack Burditt, Kay Cannon, Robert Carlock, Dave Finkel, Daisy Gardner, Donald Glover, Matt Hubbard, Jon Pollack, John Riggi, Tami Sagher and Ron Weiner. You guys rock, no pun intended.

I really does look to be Tina’s Year. A SAG, WGA and PGA all in a row?! It seems things are looking up for old Liz Lemon.

Matthew Hubbard’s “Hardball” lost in the single episode department to Paul Liberstein and Michael Shur of The Office. I know it’s hard to believe that anything could beat the Fight the Worm scene from Hardball. I mean even the name for this site even comes from that episode, but if anyone deserves it, it’s Paul and Michael, so congratulations!

Speaking of the WGA. It looks like writers have a chance to get back to work by Wednesday. Currently the members of the WGA are voting for an end to the strike while new contracts are being written up. The vote lasts 48 hours and we’ll know the answer by Tuesday night. Hopefully we’ll get a clear sense just how much 30 Rock we’ll get this season. We’ll keep you updated the best we can.

Hi! I saw your comment over on officetally and thought “what a strange url” so I popped on over to check it out. Anyhow, I like your site! And I’m glad Tina Fey is getting a lot of award recognition lately. It worried me a little when I read that she felt her show didn’t have all that much security since it was kind of new. Let me know if you would like to be affiliates sometime!
