We’re Cool

Wednesday, November 17th, 2010

Note: This post is shameless feel-goodery for PCB.

In case you weren’t paying attention to the credits during Tina Fey’s Mark Twain Prize, this happened:

There.  Sprawled across Amy Poehler’s waist.  That’s us.

That’s in reference to this post in which many of you helped pick out scenes from 30 Rock to be used in the show.  Some clips had to be cut out of the broadcast, but it’s pretty cool that we could help out.  We got to chip in answering 30 Rock questions and such.  Thanks to everyone who helped out and to the Mark Twain people who were completely cool themselves.  They even got us into the program so my name could be printed on something that also has the name “Tina Fey.”

Tina Fey – Mark Twain Prize

Sunday, November 14th, 2010

This past Tuesday, Tina was awarded the prestigious Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.  Tina was the 3rd woman and youngest ever to win this special honor.

You can see the show online at PBS website.  They even have the full version of some bits including Tina’s uncut acceptance speech.

Today [11/14] PBS will air that special at 9/8 central. Be sure to tune in.  It’s basically two hours  of people talking about how much they love Tina!  And PCB even helped out putting together the 30 Rock stuff!  We put together your favorite scenes and they used it so we’re excited to see how it turned out!   It’ll be a fantastic show!  You can read more about the Mark Twain prize here.

Favorite Scenes for Mark Twain Award

Sunday, August 15th, 2010

As previously  reported this year Tina is relieving the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center.

One of the exec producers for the show contacted me and asked if PCBers would put together a list of their favorite 30 Rock scenes, including episode title and start time if possible.  (Though Tina is receiving the award, favorite scenes can come from any actor/guest actor.)

I figured we could do that easily for them.  Leave a comment with a few of your favorite scenes or lines w/ the episode title if possible.  If you can’t find the time in the episode I’ll try to look them up for you.

Tina Fey to receive Kennedy Center’s Mark Twain Prize for American Humor

Wednesday, May 26th, 2010

This is huge.

Tina Fey can dust off another place on her trophy shelf. The Kennedy Center announced Tuesday that the comedian will receive this year’s Mark Twain Prize for American Humor.

And before anyone asks, let’s settle the question of honoring someone who’s a mere 40 years old. “It does change the paradigm a bit,” said Mark Krantz, co-executive producer of the Twain salute. Fey is the youngest recipient in the award’s 13 years. “A lot of people felt it was a lifetime achievement award for an old person. It never has been. It is a prize, really, about somebody’s depth and talent.”

Fey’s response to being chosen illustrates why audiences love this groundbreaking writer and actress. She said: “I assume Betty White was disqualified for steroid use.”

The award will be given out at the November 9th ceremony and televised at a later date.
