Dream Emmy Ballots

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

EW and TWOP released their dream Emmy ballots last week and as expected, 30 Rock made a lot of top 6’s.  Both sited 30 Rock for Best Comedy series and the cast made it as well.

Here’s EW’s Lead Actor/Actress lists, which Tina and Alec both made.  And here’s the supporting race where Tracy and Jane made the cut!

Over at Television Without Pity, Tina Fey, Alec Baldwin, Jane Krakowski, Tracy Morgan and Jack McBrayer all made the dream ballots!  I’m glad the supporting actors on 30 Rock are starting to get some attention.  They really deserve nominations!  Hopefully they’ll make it.  (Emmy noms come out July.)

Tina with 3 Emmys30 ROCK WINS 4 EMMYS!!!!

Total Comedy Domination!

We’ll be updating this post throughout the awards providing a little 30 Rock spin on the evening.

10:56 E: VICTORY!!!!! Maybe they’ll give 30 Rock a 4th season now. Just kidding… but seriously, long live 30 Rock! WOOO! WOOO! WOOO! We’ll be posting more Emmy goodness later tonight. GO TINA AND CO.!!!!

10:46 E: Tina wins!!!!!!!!!!!! We’re so happy for her. And Tina we don’t think your looks and abilities are disproportionate to your confidence. In fact, they’re very proportionate. As Moonvest puts it “What’s she talkin’ about? She’s smokin hot up there!”

10:30 Eastern: I think this text from Shark Eyes sums it up best “AHHHHHHHHH ALEC WINS!!!!!” Congrats Alec, it was certainly well deserved.

9:27 Eastern: Tina Fey wins Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series! Go Tina go! Her acceptance speech was awesome. Hopefully we’ll get a video up soon!

12:40 Eastern: Here’s a look at the Pre-Emmy party NBC threw the cast of 30 Rock last night. You have to be a member of the site to see the high quality photos, but the thumbnails are pretty nice.

Best of Luck to 30 Rock! You can tune in to ABC at 8PM E to watch the award show and make sure you check back at PCB for photos and videos and hopefully a little celebration.

Once again, here’s the awards 30 Rock is up for this evening:

Predicting Emmy Submissions

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

After getting nominated based on their one episode submission, shows in the Best Series category choose 6 episodes to send in to showcase their season.  They are on 3 tapes of two episodes a piece.  This year 30 Rock was nominated for sending in “Cooter.”  Now they choose six episodes to run in the Outstanding Comedy Series race.

30 Rock has submitted their tapes and it should be leaked to the public in the next week or so.   I’m always curious to see what they are, since they can secure or loose an Emmy for the show.

In anticipation, I thought we could throw around our thoughts on which 6 episodes 30 Rock should and will have picked.
I’ll leave my thoughts in the comments below.

It’s A New Record!!

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

That’s right ladies and gentlemen, 30 Rock has set a new record of nominations amongst a Comedy Series! 17 Nominations! The previous record was held by the Larry Sanders Show in 1997 with 16 nods. So let’s all celebrate for that alone!!

Now I have a list of what 30 Rock is nominated for. There is a lot of writing so I didn’t copy entire categories. If you would like to see entire categories, go here, scroll down and download a copy. Now If I find myself to be more awake in the coming hours, I will find a comprehensive list and put it up here. For now, this is what I can give you! (Pardon the font, this is a big copy-paste job)

Things are Lookin’ Good

Tuesday, July 15th, 2008

I just want to start off saying I know that I SUCK for not updating. I promise on Thursday I will make it up to you with a very large Emmy Post. Pinky Swear!!

For now I have just a little article that has two Emmy “Experts” (I don’t know exactly what qualifies you to be an Emmy Expert, but that’s another story) predicting Comedy Top Five. And guess what! 30 Rock makes both of their lists. Check out the article here.

The official and final nominations come out SUPER early Thursday morning (the 17th), so I promise as soon and as early as I can get myself out of bed, you will have a fabulous Emmy Post hopefully booming with 30 Rock nods. Until then, may my apologizing for lack of updates be enough!
