Tina’s the Highest Paid Actress
Thursday, September 29th, 2011According to Forbes’ list Tina is the highest paid actress in television. Between her book deal and the new pay checks from syndication, she reportedly makes $13 Million a year. She deserves it! The Desperate Houswives, Helgenberger from CSI and Hargitay from Law and Order: SVU are all at the top and about to leave their shows. Tina will be the highest paid by far then.
30 Rock’s Emmy Dreams – 8
Friday, September 16th, 2011Here’s the second to last installment of our Emmys rundown:
Lead Actress in a Comedy Series
Edie Falco – Nurse Jackie – “Rat Falls”
Tina Fey – 30 Rock – “Double Edged Sword”
Laura Linney – The Big C – “Pilot”
Melissa McCarthy – Mike & Molly – “First Date”
Martha Plimpton – Raising Hope – “Say Cheese”
Amy Poehler – Parks and Recreation – “Flu Season”
I’m either going to very excited when this category is announced, or very sad. It’s 50/50 here.
Laura Linney – Oh brother. I’ve watched her show just so I can complain here. She’s 1) not funny. 2) Doing a mediocre job. 3) On a mediocre show. There should be no reason for her to win this. Oh wait there’s one reason she’s Laura Linney. I’m preparing myself to not get to upset when she wins, but I probably still will. Just cause she’s a serious actress doing a Showtime show does not mean we need to reward them.
Amy Poehler – PLEASE GIVE THIS TO AMY!!! Poehler has done a remarkable job on a flawless show. Seriously falwless they didn’t have one misstep of an episode all season. A lot of that is due to Amy’s ability to do all sorts of comedy. She deserves this award more than anyone else in the category. Parks has a little bit of critical support, I hope it’s enough to overcome Linney and get Amy this Emmy! If the Academy doesn’t want to give Parks the Series award, this would be a great place to recognize the show.
Fey, Plimpton, McCarthy – All these ladies are supper funny and I’m glad we’re getting back to the comedy aspect of this category. Plimpton especially has a funny tape, you should check it out. I just think Amy has it if it’s going to a comedienne not just an actress this time around. If any of these girls won it would be well deserved.
Falco – Her show wasn’t as great or well relieved in it’s 3rd season. Plus Linney is now the golden girl of Showtime so I don’t see her winning again.
Rankings
Laura Linney – 50%
Amy Poehler – 35%
Melissa McCarthy – 5%
Tina Fey – 5%
Martha Plimpton – 3%
Edie Falco – 2%
Preference: Amy, Tina, Martha
Fey, Carlock and McCarthy Talk Emmys
Friday, August 26th, 2011Tina Fey, Robert Carlock and Beth McCarthy gave an interview with Deadline Hollywood about the upcoming Emmys, Baldwins “last season” and some other topics. It seems like everyone at 30 Rock is rooting for McCarthy (nominated for directing the Live Show.)
DEADLINE: Are people gunning for 30 Rock since it’s been on the air since 2006?
TINA FEY: It’s like you’re reading something harshly critical about the show, and you go: ‘This isn’t even a writer, this is an Internet poster,” and you have to separate yourself. Having worked at Saturday Night Live, you ride the cycle of, ‘We’re discovering it, we hate it, it’s the worst it’s ever been, it’s coming back, we’re rediscovering it.’ You ride that Ferris wheel for years there. It’s a perception that is inevitable, and you just keep doing your work.
ROBERT CARLOCK: We just want Beth to win.
DEADLINE: Beth, how many times have you been nominated for an Emmy?
MCCARTHY: I think, like, seven. And I will graciously lose again to an episode of Modern Family.
FEY: Because that [mockumentary] style is so hard to shoot.
MCCARTHY: But you know what? I will say I love my category this year. I love all the directors that were nominated this year. There was no, like, ‘huh?’ Everybody is great.
CARLOCK: If somebody beats you, Beth, we’re going to do a live show next year and make them direct it.

Tina Welcomes Second Child!

Highest Paid Actors
Friday, August 12th, 2011TV Guide released a list of the highest paid actors for the new TV Season. Obviously these figures are hard to get and the list is far from complete, but it reports Tina and Alec towards the top of the Comedy list. In fact, Tina is the highest paid comedy actress at $350,000 per episode (3rd over all.) Alec comes in 4th at $300,000 per episode.
Obviously these figures are really rough, and I expect Tina makes a lot more when you include writing/producing/creating/syndication and all that.

Tina Hosts SNL 5-7
Sunday, May 8th, 2011This was not my favorite Tina hosting gig… (How do you keep her off stage for 45 minutes?) But here were a lot of funny moments. Here are a few of the best:
-Monologue
-GOP Debate
-Mermaid
-Pregnant in Heels
-Birthing Class
-Belinda’s Sleepover
and no Tina here but everyone should watch Stefon.

Saturday, May 7th, 2011Ask Tina + Survey
Friday, May 6th, 2011Before we get to the new Ask Tina, a hardcore 30 Rock + Tina Fey fan needs our help. She is working on a class project and needs responses to this survey about TV (Mostly 30 Rock and Modern Family.) If you could take a minute and help her out that would be greatly appreciated.
It’s hard to believe the seasons over but here’s a new Ask Tina to get your fix:
Don’t forget Tina hosts SNL tomorrow!
