500,000 Page Views!

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

This is mostly just a feel good post for us.  Sometime last night we passed 500,000 page views for PCB.  We think that’s a pretty cool milestone.

Thanks for all the visits and especially the comments.  They make updating PCB worthwhile and make us smile.   (Rhyme!)  So keep coming back and sharing 30 Rock with us.  (Please.)

Also I’d like to take this opportunity to ask for any suggestions or ideas for the site.  If there’s any ideas you think would be fun or things for us to fix we’d love to hear them!  Your thoughts and help are greatly appreciated.

Thanks again!

The GE Sells NBC Post

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

Note: This is a post for discussing the facts but mostly to speculate on what the Comcast/GE deal means for NBC and “30 Rock.”  Please feel free to share your comments.

It was announced today after weeks of working out the details, that Comcast has purchased a controlling share of NBC from General Electrics.

Facts:
Comcast owns 51% of NBC, GE owns 49%.
Jeff Zucker will lead the venture.
For a lot more specifics check out:  Comcast’s reportNBCU’s siteGE’s Report.

Speculation:
So what does this mean for 30 Rock?  Jack Donaghy is a GE employee, so how can the show justify his character?  Do they need to?

Great questions that can really only be answered by Tina and the writers.  It’s really up to them to let this play out in “30 Rock’s world however they want.  I don’t think there’s any reason or need to boot Jack Donaghy from his job, (much less the show.)  But they could if they wanted to.  This could work creatively for them.  Maybe they’ll give Jack story lines of being unemployed or struggling with the take over.  Maybe he’ll stay on as VP of Programing under Comcast.  Could Devon Banks be a Comcast exec?

Personally, I’m not a fan of this deal, but it could give 30 Rock some great stories.  Speculate away!

DVD Sales

Saturday, October 10th, 2009

Here’s the numbers for the first week of 30 Rock’s Season 3 DVD sales.
30 Rock - Season 3:
Units Sold: 83,902
Sales: $2,642,074
30 Rock placed 8th for the Week only loosing to Grey’s Anatomy (in it’s 2nd week of release.) Full chart here.

And for comparison here’s the first week of 30 Rock’s Season 2 DVD sales:
30 Rock Season 2
Units Sold: 39,129
Sales: $1,056,065

I’m just a nerd like this.  Twice as many DVDs in it’s first week is a good thing!

Note: These are only numbers for their first weeks in release while they remained on the Top 20 chart.  When they fell off their sales were no longer posted.  If anyone has a total number of DVDs sold figured, I’d be interested to  see it.

The Girl Is Back In Town?

Wednesday, June 10th, 2009

Well hello kids! It’s me, Shark Eyes! Yes, I actually exist! Crazy huh?

So what I’m here to say is that I am taking over for the Summer. Matt and Moonvest (yes, he exists too) have abandoned me yet again and have left me in charge. If you guys have been coming to the site for awhile, you’ll remember that I did this last summer too. I guess Matt feels I can handle it, since nothing really happens over the summer, besides Emmy Nods, which I’m pretty sure I can handle! I just wanted to give you all a heads up. I’m going to do my best to try and find anything worth posting. If you guys are looking for anything specific, you can judge nudge and prod me into doing it for you.

If you have any other ideas as well, shoot them my way! I’m not as electronically savvy as Matt is, but I will do what I can! I’m going to try and update the Joke Directory, because you all have done such a great job suggesting stuff for that! But any other stuff you all are looking for or what you want the site to do, let me know! That’s all for now!

PCB’s Anniversary

Friday, January 16th, 2009

Today marks the one year anniversary since PCB started.  It’s really hard to believe that it’s already been a year.  We just wanted to take an opportunity and thank you all for coming and helping to make PCB great.  Thank you!

To date we’ve had over 142,000 page hits and over 77,000  visitors!  PCB has gotten over 600 comments (and our spam blockers have blocked over 8,000 pieces of spam.)  We get more and more visitors every week and we’re excited that people are starting to comment and use the site more and more.

One area we feel that could use a little work is discussion after episodes.  Especially since now we know Tina likes to read fan’s responses to episodes, we’d like to see more going on over at the episode page after new shows.  So if you come by here after an episode airs to get quotes or what not, please take some time to share what you think.

Finally, we’re always interested in your feed back and suggestions for the site.  If you have any ideas for PCB on what we can add or make better, please don’t hesitate to let us know!

Thanks again for visiting!  Here’s to at least another year (and hopefully many more!)
-The PCB team
