3.22 – Kidney Now
Kidney Now Song:
Some times life brings pain and strife and all seems wrong.
That is when you find a friend and write a song.
So give the gift of giving. Give it far it and give it wide.
Take a leap, reach down deep, inside.
And just give a kidney.
To a father or a dad.
Just give a kidney.
We hear it doesn’t really hurt that bad.
And we know you want give it to a super human being.
So get it done
We just need one
For Milton Green.
This country has 600 million kidneys. And we really only need half.
That leaves 300 million kidneys, do the math.
Milton Green, Milton Green, Milton Green, Milton Green, Milton Green.
He needs a kidney.
Milton Green, don’t ask why he could die if you don’t call to day.
Elvis Costello: Listen, when someone starts talking in the middle of a song, you know it’s serious.
Mary J Blige: So give
Cheryl Crow: That’s right. I’m the only one getting paid.
Norah Jones: And only 3 of us are drunk.
Michael McDonald: Milton Green needs a kidney just like I need this beard. You don’t wan to know what’s under here.
Adam Lavine: Why you don’t have two beards, you do have two kidneys. Think of it this way, if I had two dollars, I’d give you one, wouldn’t I?
Cyndi Lauper: I’m one of the drunk ones!
Beastie Boys and Talib Kweli: They say that 2 is better than 1. But some times 1 is better than 2. If you had 2 heads you’d wish you had 1. How is this different? If you had two dogs attacking you, you’d want just 1. There we proved our point!
Milton Green, Milton Green, Milton Green, Milton Green, Milton Green.
He needs a kidney.
Milton Green, don’t ask why he could die if you don’t call to day.
He needs a kidney!
No he doesn’t need a head.
He just needs a kidney.
A head would be even a harder thing to give.
We can give a kidney
And we really thing you should
We pass the cup, they stitch it up, we do some good. (Do some good!)
We pass the cup (pass the cup!) they stitch it up (stitch it up!) we do some good.
We pass the cup, they stitch it up (Stitch it up!), we do some good!

I can’t believe there’s only 4 more episodes!!!! What will I do with myself when I can’t get my weekly does of Tina and the crew?
These last 4 episodes are gonna be stellar though!

I’m so excited for Alan Alda! YAY!

Oh, I’m excited about Sara Bareilles! I met her once. She’s such a nice person.
And I cannot believe there’s only two episodes left.

Only two episodes…so sad
I don’t know about any of you guys, but I am really hoping this is a musical episode – at least somewhat! Midnight Train To Georgia was brilliant, so I hope to see a lot more of that in this episode…fingers crossed.

THAT
WAS
AWESOME!
Best musical number on the show to date! They all killed it.
The best part of this episode for me was Liz dishing advice. Only one snake in the bedroom. Deal Breaker!
Jane Krakowksi can sing!

Agreed Matt! I thought there were so many sharp lines in this episode, and some happen so quickly I can barely keep up! It’s like almost everything that comes out of the character’s mouths is pure genius! How do they do that??
I especially love Liz’s advice. It was so hilarious! And the song, great too! They got some great, and very random, talent together for that!
“Suburban 7th graders have more sexual experience than you do.” Love it

Oh, 30 Rock. A great year indeed. [It's May.] Not my absolute favorite episode, but what a number at the end. And I love how the show is mirroring real life [Liz's book deal].
See you in the fall. And, let’s face it, accepting quite a few Emmys before then.

Of course Liz doling-out rough justice was an instant classic…

The comment about two more seasons tops of TGS worried me, was that a hint that 30 rock is coming to an end?

Tracy said in this episode that he was allergic to horses — but didn’t he hang out with a horse in season one when he filmed that Thomas Jefferson trailer?
May 15th, 2009 at 5:42 am
Oh Dot Org, you are so right… then again, Tracy could have just said that. I don’t think you can take anything he says that doesn’t actually happen as show canon.
Anyway, great episode. I think the 2 more seasons thing is just the writers sneakily predicting how long this will last, and Liz’s optimistic ‘Oh, I dunno, 20 years?’ is more reflective of how long they want to do it.
Let’s face it – 30R is an incredible show. I just hope it goes long as long as it stays funny, that’s all.

Awesome, awesome, awesome! XD
The song in the end was epic (btw you can download the instrumental version from the nbc page)! (I’ve been singing milton greene-milton greene-milton greene for hours now XD)
Too bad it was the season finale. I just can’t imagine my summer without 30 Rock

LOVE!
i also thought the musical number was epic… so awesome to see Sara Bareilles there! i wish she got to sing a little solo or something, though. one of my favorite quotes from Liz was “s. that. d. shut it down.”
and i also loved how Liz and Sheryl Crow were in a school play together
on the flip side, i felt like the beginning of the show started out kinda slow and wasn’t as good/funny as the middle/end. i think there were a few funny lines and stuff, but i don’t know, it felt kinda weird to me…? but in all, GREAT ep, GREAT season… and one loooong 30 Rock-less summer ahead

Great episode for a great season. LOVED THE SONG!!!!!!!!! I really hope we get to see more Milton Greene next season! I still can’t get over the fact Hulu has 14 Office episodes and only 5 30 Rock. For us people without tivo or dvr, we have to suffer with no Liz, Jackie D, Tracy, Jenna, Pete, Kenneth… -SAD FACE-

loved this finale! perfect ending! if anybody wants to rewatch, it’s now on Fancast. Every time I watch it, I see new musicians in the background. awesome!
