Favorite Scenes for Mark Twain Award

As previously reported this year Tina is relieving the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor at the Kennedy Center. One of the exec producers for the show contacted me and asked if PCBers would put together a list of their favorite 30 Rock scenes, including episode title and start time if possible. (Though Tina is receiving the award, favorite scenes can come from any actor/guest actor.) I figured we could do that easily for them. Leave a comment with a few of your favorite scenes or lines w/ the episode title if possible. If you can’t find the time in the episode I’ll try to look them up for you.

Ahhh, this is so awesome! Thanks so much for doing this! I have a ton of favorite moments so naturally this is my time to totally blank out, but here are a few that I think would go over well for this ceremony:
During Dealbreakers Talk Show, when she’s doing the camera test/intro and Pete tells her to wave, and her wave is really goofy/unnatural, and Pete yells, “Like a person! Wave like a person!”
During “Retreat to Move Forward” when Liz attempts to leave Jack’s hotel room and can’t open the door, and he barks “like a waitress,” at which point she corrects herself and leaves. Also, “robot penis!”
During “Seinfeldvision” when she says she’s doing things in her own order (I can’t remember her exact lines), and she ends with “and then I’m gonna die, and then I’m gonna meet a super cute guy in heaven.” Also, when she and Jerry are talking and, while she has a meltdown, it sounds like she’s imitating him.
In “Believe in the Stars” when Oprah says, “and what suffers…?” and Liz says “your bowel movements”–”your personal life, yes.”
Ahhh, there are so many more–and probably better–suggestions, but those are mine for now! Thanks again!

For now here are a couple of scenes off the top of my head:
Any time Liz is dancing: Pilot- Liz dancing with the strippers. I’m not sure if this scene is on Jack the Writer, but Liz dancing with Frank in the writers room. Black Tie- Liz trying to convice Jack to dance with her. Flu Shot- Liz dancing for a flu shot. Retreat to Move Forward- Liz ripping her shirt open on stage and dancing. Deal Breakers Talk Show- Liz dancing in the opening of Deal Breakers.
The Aftermath- The writers throwing food/objects at Liz.
Up All Night- Liz telling the person on the phone, “Oh I found the card, they’re from your mom. Tell your gay mom I said thanks”.
Episode 210- Liz singing, “I’ve got to go…”
Sandwhich Day- Liz flipping over the writer’s table, “Where’s my Mac and Cheese”.

Summary:
JACK DONAGHY (ALEC BALDWIN) ROPES LIZ LEMON (TINA FEY) INTO ACCOMPANYING HIM ON A BUSINESS RETREAT, WHILE JENNA MARONEY (JANE KRAKOWSKI) DECIDES TO TAKE A METHOD APPROACH TO BECOMING JANIS JOPLIN
Jack (Baldwin) is nervous about the corporate retreat, so he recruits Liz (Fey) to accompany him for support. Meanwhile, Jenna (Krakowski) ends up at the mercy of Frank (Judah Friedlander) when she decides she needs to implore method acting to prepare for her Janis Joplin role, and Kenneth (Jack McBrayer) must convince Tracy (Tracy Morgan) that diabetes is affected by his diet. Also starring Katrina Bowden and Keith Powell. Chris Parnell guest stars.
The best scenes are when Kenneth scares Tracy into eating his vegetables after telling him about the Hill Witch:
Kenneth: Ok, Mr. Jordan. Whatever you like… I hope you don’t get eaten by the Hill Witch. Hmmm, what’s that?
Tracy: I didn’t say anything.
Kenneth: Oh you want to hear tell about the Hill Witch. My Nema, saw her once taking away a boy who wouldn’t eat his vegetables. She’s a shriveled crone, 1000 years old. One look turns you to stone. Then she gorges on your living brain.
Tracy: Through the stone?
And the other is when Liz takes the lego train and goes: “Sorry I dropped it while I was pretending it was my penis. Ro-bot Pe-nis!” in a robot voice : )
I was in TEARS first time I watched this episode. So was my dad.

Hard to select from a bounty, but that means they can’t go wrong.
Whatever they do they have to show Liz on the toilet, i can see it now, an audience of black-tie hoi-polloi, they show that clip and cut to Tina, and she’ll cover her face and shake her head or mouth “I’m sorry mom” or lift her brow & lower her lids and nod assuredly & affirmatively at the camera or something.
Here’s an idea for the start and end of the clip package, start with Liz on the ground after getting decked by Jack’s sister, glasses askew and woozily telling Jack “I want you to punch your sister in the face” from near the end of The Fighting Irish and end with the very end of Hiatus:
(Jack in hospital bed hooked-up to machines)
Liz: So I’m your emergency contact huh?
Jack: You are the only person I know who wouldn’t hesitate to pull the plug.
Jack: Honestly, I no longer think you are doing a terrible job and I am very proud of you.
Liz: Thanks Jack! I’m going to pull the plug now!
Jack: (objecting) Whoa!
Liz: (playfully upon fade-out) Just let me do it!
