Golden Globes 2010
January 17, 2010
The Golden Globes are tonight! Tune in 8:00 eastern 5:00 pacific. Be sure to check back here for reactions, pictures, videos and hopefully some celebrations. Well Alec was the sole 30 Rock victory for the night, congrats to him! Unfortunately he couldn’t attending this evening so he wasn’t there to accept. Actually most of the cast didn’t make the trip out to to LA for the event, but we do have some videos and pictures. Hopefully the rest of the cast will show up at the SAG awards on Saturday. If you come across any other items from the Golden Globes, be sure to share. Pictures: Tina on the Red Carpet Tina at an after party (Awesome!) Yay! 30 Rock’s received the same three nomination for the last three years. I was hoping for Jane or Tracy to pop up in the supporting categories, but they’re so competitive at the Globes. VERY happy for Tina and Alec holding on to their spot among all the new nominees!
[Side note: I’m not a Glee fan but yay Lea Michele. She’s the best thing about that show. And yay Modern Family. And boo for no Breaking Bad.]

Hope Tina wins! She’s been robbed of an Emmy this year! But oh, god, tough competition from Edie and Toni.

I’m glad they could all get the nominations, though it really was pretty guaranteed. The competition from here looks really tough. Edie and Toni are a force. A non comedic force, but a force. I like their shows but I’m not exactly laughing along. Great dramatic performances that shouldn’t matter in a Comedy race but do because the Golden Globes are a joke :P.
Then again it could go to Michele and Glee. The GGs love their musicals. I think 30 Rock is most deserving for the year 2009, but I can see arguments for Glee or Modern Family.

I have a feeling Modern Family will take the comedy series trophy. 30 Rock is still my favorite show but Mod Fam had such a consistently hilarious arc that the GG’s will be hard pressed to deny it.

Well, you should know how I feel about Glee by now. Seems like I’ve been bashing it forever. Ah, well.
At least Alec won, although now it just kind of seems a given that he will! It seems like 30 Rock is sort of on the downswing of awards glory, which is a morbid thing to say, but I doubt Jane or Tracy or Jack will ever get GG nods. Shame.
[Side note: Happy for Mad Men!]

‘At least I can go on the internet without Gleetards and bitter Office fans complaining about how 30 Rock wins every thing.’
This and Alec winning are the only good things about GG this year.

Hmm, I have some mixed feelings..
First of all, congrats to Alec, of course! He has no competition in his category, that’s for sure…
I have no problem with Glee, I actually watch it, and like it, and I’m happy that it was able to win, BUT I’d be much happier with an other 30 Rock win. For me, nothing beats 30 Rock. D’uh.
I love Toni Collette, she is one of my favorite actresses, but I still don’t think that she belongs in this category. For me, her and Edie Falco’s performances are more dramatic, somewhere between drama and comedy, and it just feels weird.
But that’s only my opinion.
But, yay, Alec and of course we still have the SAG Awards!

Glad to see Alec, Michael C Hall and John Lithgow win.

Right? I don’t hate Glee but it’s definately not the best Comedy. If there’s any award 30 Rock should loose though, it’s the worthless Golden Globes.
I’m not comparing the content of the two, but I think this Glee win is a lot like the Ugly Betty win during 30 Rock’s first season. Huge support going into the Globes as the fresh new show then people got sick of praising it before the summer. We’ll see come Emmy time I guess.

Matt, you are so right. It’s on Glee’s court now to perform good and lived up the ‘Best Comedy’ trophy. I still don’t understand them winning with lame and sucky writing they have there. So tons of good luck to them; I hope they can back up all the hype in the long run.
What’s so nice is that Tina thinks it’s okay if they don’t win. She’s so humble and wonderful person, I wanna take her home as cuddle buddy.

Yay amy and will!
Argh too bad glee won. I love glee, but my loyalty remains with 30 rock. Apple of my eye, that 30 rock.
