Update 9/17 – NBC posted this press release announcing Oprah’s guest appearance.  It quotes Tina saying, “Oprah is very funny in the episode and we are beyond grateful to have her. Also, I would like to announce that we are officially best friends.”

Oprah’s real best friend, Gayle, says the Oprah/Tina combo is “Hilarious. H-I-L-A-A-A-R-I-O-U-S.”

On the very heels of Aniston Watch, comes a new guest star! Move over Jennifer, here comes Oprah!

That’s right Oprah is in talks to guest on 30 Rock in this season’s second episode. You may remember Tina jokingly suggesting having Oprah during the taping of her show last year. Tina and Amy Poehler were there to talk about Baby Mama. Well it looks like Oprah was serious. E! Online is reporting that the world’s 36th most powerful woman has been written into the second episode and just has to sign the deal.

Not to steal your spotlight Jennifer; we’re still excited about you too. But wow, this is big news for our favorite show!
