The 30 Rock Season 2 DVD is out now! You should go buy it right away. (Or if you pre-ordered it, stop what you’re doing and stand by your mail box until it arrives!) I would say this would make a great Christmas gift idea (since by now everyone you know is watching this show…right?) but it seems to early for that. So instead I’ll say that if your loaded with cash, you should consider passing out the DVD to Trick-Or-Treaters this Halloween. Trust me, it’s better for the kids than another Snickers bar.
Here’s a look at what is on this DVD:
- 15 AMAZING 30 Rock episodes!
- Deleted Scenes
- Plenty of episode commentary
- 30 Rock Live at the UCB
- “Cooter” table read
- Behind the scenes with Tina Fey at SNL
- “An Evening with 30 Rock” presented by The Academy of Television Arts and Science
If for some reason you’re still reading this post and not on your way to pick up your copy, you must not know where to get it. You could order it from: The NBC Store for $29.98 but Target and Amazon have it priced at $26.99.
If you find a good deal, be sure to share it with us all!
We’ll post something of a review when we’re done devouring this DVD, but if anyone is interested in writing their own review we’d be happy to put it up. Just send it our way! If you just want to talk a bit about the DVD feel free to comment as well :).
Another Saturday night, another amazing performance from Tina Fey playing Sarah Palin.
We’ve seen her with Hillary and Katie Couric. Now Liz takes on Floyd in the VP debate. I mean Tina Fey takes on Jason Sudeikis. I mean Sarah Palin takes on Joe Biden.
I hope Tina will be able to stop by in one of these Thursday Night Live specials coming up. Then she’d be in her regular time slot and everything!
In a rather epic event last night, Julia Louis-Dreyfus stole Tina’s Emmy while on Late Night with Conan O’Brien. Tina Fey and Jack McBrayer got involved too. It’s pretty amazing actually!
For some reason it won’t embed right now, so check it out here!
In unrelated news, after promising a new banner for over 9 months, we decided, hey it’s probably about time. And as we told you Shark Eyes, Moonvest and I have little to no photo skills at all. So this banner was made by none other than my little sister. She said it would have been better if she had real photo editing programs, but I think it turned out very nicely. A great improvement over that last one. We may be changing adjusting it a bit still, but for now, there it sits. What do you think?
Moonvest update: Whilst browsing the Conan site, I found this little clip of Will Arnett in the brand new VIP seat, thought you guys would enjoy!
Tina Fey and Amy Poehler reunited once again to make some magic on SNL last night. And once again, they were hilarious!
Dr. Spaceman, I mean Chris Parnell, also appeared on the show as the presidential debate moderator. Hopefully Tina can get him to come back as the leading meth addiction specialist (and a pretty good dentist) this season! (I put that video under the break in case you want to check it out.) Kristen Dos Santos, of who I’m increasingly jealous of, has posted this little report. It’s full of 30 Rock spoilers for upcoming episodes, and speculation about a certain relationship on the show. It’s complete with a video of Ryan Seacrest interviewing Tina on the red carpet, and a fanvid. It’s pretty awesome so check it out!
This post is for pictures and videos from Emmy night. 30 Rock won 4 Emmys. (A total of 7 this year.) Tina took home 3. 30 Rock won 7/10 of NBC’s emmys. (Don’t cancel this show ever please.) All in all it was a pretty exciting night. Here’s some highlights!
We’ll be updating this post throughout the awards providing a little 30 Rock spin on the evening.
10:56 E: VICTORY!!!!! Maybe they’ll give 30 Rock a 4th season now. Just kidding… but seriously, long live 30 Rock! WOOO! WOOO! WOOO! We’ll be posting more Emmy goodness later tonight. GO TINA AND CO.!!!!
10:46 E: Tina wins!!!!!!!!!!!! We’re so happy for her. And Tina we don’t think your looks and abilities are disproportionate to your confidence. In fact, they’re very proportionate. As Moonvest puts it “What’s she talkin’ about? She’s smokin hot up there!”
10:30 Eastern: I think this text from Shark Eyes sums it up best “AHHHHHHHHH ALEC WINS!!!!!” Congrats Alec, it was certainly well deserved.
9:27 Eastern: Tina Fey wins Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series! Go Tina go! Her acceptance speech was awesome. Hopefully we’ll get a video up soon!
12:40 Eastern: Here’s a look at the Pre-Emmy party NBC threw the cast of 30 Rock last night. You have to be a member of the site to see the high quality photos, but the thumbnails are pretty nice.
Best of Luck to 30 Rock! You can tune in to ABC at 8PM E to watch the award show and make sure you check back at PCB for photos and videos and hopefully a little celebration.
Once again, here’s the awards 30 Rock is up for this evening:
Here’s a short little Page Desk to keep you busy until the Emmy’s tomorrow night!
Tina Fey reached #10 in Forbes list of top 20 List of Highest Earning TV Actresses. The list features 2 supermodles, 4 Housewives and some pretty unflattering pictures all around.
When you’re done with the above, check out the audience submitted questions where Alec does his best Tracy Morgan impression.
Speaking of Tracy Morgan, he’s going to lend his voice talents to start in “Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.” I wonder where this role sits in the “Uncanny Valley.”
Here’s a video of Tim Conway backstage after winning his Emmy.
And finally here’s a pretty awesome interview with Amy Peohler. “What?” you say, “Amy’s not on 30 Rock.” Well why that may be true (for now). However this interview is not only hilarious, but it references Devon Banks robe as well as Amy’s wish that her baby will marry Alice Richmond.
Well that’s all for now. Remember if you find something else, don’t hesitate to drop us an email. We’ll also be updating thought the Emmy’s tomorrow so be sure to check it out.
vero: Wait whats this.. Tina fey and Jane were supposed to dress up like Courtney cox and Lisa Kudrow??? how do u know this Carolina?
amanda: Thanks Noah! Haha yeah they have huge groups already but I just wanted to make my own
Noah: Oh this is interesting: The LA Times' awards blog The Envelope is doing a series of polls about who should host the 09 Oscars. Of the 16 people polled about, Tina has the highest approval rating, with 70% thinking she'd make a good host. I honestly would never have thought of her as the Oscar host type, but she could be really fantastic. link
Noah: I believe there's already a pretty big 30 Rock group, although it's not maintained especially well. I'll join yours, of course. Today I randomly found myself laughing hysterically at the line 'She is staunchly in favor of Cocoa Puffs.'
Amanda: I started a group on facebook called "30 Rock Fans!"
Join it and check it out!
creator: Amanda Pflieger
Esmerelda Fitzmonster: Ok, here is the deal. TV.com is having a "Best of 2008" vote and 30 Rock is up for Best in Comedy Genre.
http://www.tv.com/best-of-2008/genre/index.html?page=2
Multiple voting is allowed and clearly is being abused. Let me show you:
The Office 73%
30 Rock 2%
Pushing Daisies 23%
How I Met Your Mother 2%
Now, I'm a fan of both The Office and How I Met Your Mother. I don't watch Pushing Daisies but have a great deal of respect for the show. But doesn't this seem a bit....off to you? The vote should be a little bit closer considering 30 Rock is now a two time Best Comedy Emmy winner. I think something needs to be done about this....so can we do something to make this a more even race, please?
Noah: They're really playing up the jack/liz "cuteness" this season, huh? This can only mean...
Amanda: Yeah, there were definetly some great and hillarious jokes (I personnaly burst out into laughter when Kenneth would squeal), but I was dissapointed to see the jennifer aniston/ alec baldwin thing just end. I am not saying I wanted them to go further of anything, I am just saying the stroy just sort of ended, she just sort of walked away. Does that make sense? I agree with Noah. Even though Aniston was funny at times, it just sort of seems like she didn't belong. Loved the end with Liz and Jack walking away, that was cute. I don't know. I just hope next week with Steve Martin ends up awesome, it looks great.
Carolina: I thought they were going to show it when they mentioned dancing in the water from a broken fire hydrant (or whatever), but no! I guess it's something to look forward to on the dvds.
Matt: I know, Carolina! I was waiting for that the whole episode.
