Ready. Set. Awkward Desperation!
March 24, 2008
First off, we’re extremely happy that you guys keep coming back to visit Pregnant Cornbread. Every time someone comments we get excited and it really helps us keep going. We love the discussion and the scoops you guys get us! We love the help, we really do. Lately, we’ve been working on getting Pregnant Cornbread out there. Trying to get fans to visit and come together. We know there are fans out there, but we are having a devil of a time trying to find them. It’s like a crazy Where’s Waldo of 30 Rock fans! And online, there are many, many more places for Waldo to hide, and we feel like we have exhausted a lot of our initial options. Under the advice of some of our loyal PCB visitors, we’ve reached out to the 30 Rock LiveJournal group as well as the Television Without Pity Forums. Facebook is always an option, but c’mon, it’s probably our lamest option. But other than those places, we are completely stuck. Basically, we’re wondering if you guys know any place else to help get PCB out there. Seriously, any ideas, places we can promote (and not get in trouble), or friends you can recommend the show to will be greatly appreciated! (Or better yet get everyone you know to start watching 30 Rock!) While we were brainstorming how to do this post without sounding desperate, we came to the conclusion that there was no good way to do it. We really like maintaining the site for you guys, but sometimes we wish more people would come. The more people who come, the more people we entertain. Or at least we think we entertain you. If you hadn’t noticed, we happen to think we are pretty witty! (Even if sometimes we aren’t. So please help us out. We would greatly appreciate any ideas or suggestions. We love to keep the site going, and the more people we reach, the more fun we all have! So anyway…sorry about the awkward, pleading post. Coming up next, Countdown Post #6! We will do our best to keep you entertained until April 10th and beyond! Posted in Uncategorized |

I’ll definitely give you guys a shout-out on my blog here in the next little while. Facebook does = mostly lame, but it’s not a bad idea either.

I will totally get the word out. please don’t shut down!

You should try and contact NBC or the 30 Rock web team or even the producers and get them to start linking to fan sites. There’s no reason why they shouldn’t – it’s free publicity. No reason not to think big!

I know that “TV Watch” on EW.com (Entertainment Weekly) has a 30 Rock page that recaps each episode the day after it airs but, which for obvious (read: strike) reasons, hasn’t been updated in a while and I have definitely seen people plugging their own blogs, so I say once the show comes back on, we all bombard the first post there with PCB links.
The link to the last 30R TV Watch page is here:

Just found the site, I will keep coming back and support, and spread the word.
I bet once the show is back on, traffic to this site will double.
BTW I found this site through a facebook fan group.
Hey maybe if you try hard enough you could get a 30 Rock shout out!!

I agree – NBC should definitely help out with their fans trying to engage with the show, organize, and attract more fans. You guys should ask officetally.com or another The Office fansite what they do to attract more readers. PS I read the site everyday when I need a break from work and my 30 Rock fix. Keep up the goodwork! I know you’ll eventually be doing behind-the-scenes interviews!

I just wanted to say that I really enjoy the site and its keeping me from going through 30 Rock withdrawal.
You guys have probably already tried this, but maybe contacting the fanpages of the actors and asking to be listed on their recommended sites might be a good idea since fans of the actors are usually also fans of their shows/movies/work. A good one for Tina Fey is http://www.tina-fey.org

i really hope you guys can get some more visitors here. it’s a phenomenal site! you might try posting about it at the imdb message boards. this was just mentioned but i agree you should try to find websites or fansites for the actors on the show and see if you can get linked from them.

My advice is to post it on ANY message boards which will allow it. Post it on 30 Rock MySpace groups, the LJ community ect. And make affiliates with and tv/actor related sites, no matter how big or small they are. Even join fan listings and list Pregnant Cornbread as your website when you join.
BTW, when is the banner gonna be put up?
March 25th, 2008 at 9:08 pm
Thanks for the ideas guys, we’ve already started working on some of those!
Yeah, about the banner!
We’ve actually been trying to get one up. See, though talented in many ways, the PCB Staff really lacks in the creative banner making processes. So, if you guys know anyone who could make an awesome banner, or you yourself are a banner aficionado and would like to hook us up, please please do!
Email us if you need specifics about size or anything of that nature! By the by, we appreciate all the love we’ve been getting from this post! Thank you!

I fourth the idea about contacting NBC. Officetally does that nicely and they get awesome set visits and exclusive scoop and stuff.
Also, you guys can post at the 30 Rock NBC.com board that might attract the attention of the NBC dudes. Although there are some high-strung/slightly nuts posters that hang around there too.

I think Facebook is a pretty good idea. If I put “Benjamin is … laughing, reading http://www.pregnantcornbread.com” all my friend will see it and might well click on it!
