Season 2 DVD

October 7, 2008

The 30 Rock Season 2 DVD is out now!  You should go buy it right away.  (Or if you pre-ordered it, stop what you’re doing and stand by your mail box until it arrives!)  I would say this would make a great Christmas gift idea (since by now everyone you know is watching this show…right?) but it seems to early for that.  So instead I’ll say that if your loaded with cash, you should consider passing out the DVD to Trick-Or-Treaters this Halloween.  Trust me, it’s better for the kids than another Snickers bar.

Here’s a look at what is on this DVD:30 Rock Season 2 Box Cover Art

- 15 AMAZING 30 Rock episodes!
- Deleted Scenes
- Plenty of episode commentary
- 30 Rock Live at the UCB
- “Cooter” table read
- Behind the scenes with Tina Fey at SNL
- “An Evening with 30 Rock” presented by The Academy of Television Arts and Science

You can preview some bonus feature here.

If for some reason you’re still reading this post and not on your way to pick up your copy, you must not know where to get it. You could order it from: The NBC Store for $29.98 but Target and Amazon have it priced at $26.99.

If you find a good deal, be sure to share it with us all!

We’ll post something of a review when we’re done devouring this DVD, but if anyone is interested in writing their own review we’d be happy to put it up.  Just send it our way!  If you just want to talk a bit about the DVD feel free to comment as well :).

What! Alec didn’t do a commentary? That’s disappointing. Also the lack of outtakes/bloopers makes me sad. Still picking up my copy first thing in the morning though!

    Noah Says:

I have to say, I would love NBC so much more is this DVD set had a) any sort of behind the scenes doc or interviews, b) bloopers/outtakes, c) Scott Adsit’s face on the cover.

Naturally all this criticism will mean nothing as I rush out to acquire this later today…

    The Third Heat Says:

Yeah Scott Adsit needs to be on the cover. That’s absurd he’s not.

I keep reading that there is hidden Easter eggs on the DVDs. Does anyone know what they are and how to unlock them?!?!

    Moonvest Says:

I’ve now scoured the interwebs for these Easter Eggs and can only find mention of them once or twice. I think there is a note that Kenneth wrote, but I have no idea how to access it yet. If I find out, you guys will be the first to know!

I found this website. It shows where are the easter eggs. Don’t know if it’s accurate or not.

You have to click on my name for the website. Sorry.

Hey, where is the deleted scene/outake from Sandwich Day that Tina Fey mentions in her commentary?

    Crazy Bra Lady Says:

The bloopers are disappointing- you can find them by highlighting ‘Play All’ on the second (or is it the first? It might be the first- one of them anyway) and then pressing the ‘up’ button on your DVD player remote of choice (well, the one attached to the DVD player that you’re using, a-doy). Two windows of one of the translucent buildings will be highlighted red- select to go to the painfully short bloopers. They consist of

Jane Krakowski + Jack McBrayer totally cracking up while trying to speak Chinese a thousand times
‘Bucky Bright’ screwing up his lines and calling his fictional cast members ‘not queer’
Two hilariously scathing notes Jack wrote to Jenna

Unfortunately, no crew member helping Tina out of the dress as she mentioned on Sandwich Day. Bad luck.

I know it’s late, but here’s how you access the easter eggs; (I did this on my MacBook Pro, it works on a computer much easier)

Pop in the second disc, and DVD Player will automatically load. Once the menu loads, go to “Go” and then “Title”. Choose the last one listed. There’s the easter egg. It’s a note on a podium. Thanks, commentary by Jack McBrayer & Jane Krakowski!!
