Also one of my all time favorites Dennis Duffy looks like he’ll return in episode 12 from this writers tweet:

Last day of shooting on ep 612 of #30Rock. What a great cast and crew. Oh and Dennis Duffy says hi.

January 22nd – Spoiler TV

Episode 6.12

In an episode sure to delight, look out for a Catholic priest, an Irish girlfriend, a drunk at St. Patrick’s Day parade and a NYC cop…

January 21st – TV Guide

Steve Buscemi is returning to 30 Rock — and this time he’s pulling double duty.

The Boardwalk Empire star will reprise his role as private detective Len Wosniak in the Feb. 16 episode, which he will also direct, Tina Fey tells Entertainment Weekly.

Len reappears when Jack (Alec Baldwin) calls him after he gets mugged. “Jack wants Len to help him form a private police force where the salary starts at $5 million, so the police have the same interest in protecting the rich,” Fey says.

Buscemi earned a guest-acting Emmy nomination in 2008 for his work on the NBC sitcom. He previously directed a 2009 episode of the show, but did not appear in it.

January 14th – NBC

JACK (ALEC BALDWIN) TRIES TO IMPRESS HANK HOOPER (KEN HOWARD) WITH HIS COST-CUTTING TECHNIQUES BY ELIMINATING THE PAGE PROGRAM AND LIZ (TINA FEY) SEARCHES FOR A NEW BEST FRIEND.

Liz (Tina Fey) is appalled when she finds out Jenna (Jane Krakowski) has betrayed their friendship for the sake of fame, so she goes on a mission to find a new best friend. Tracy (Tracy Morgan) contemplates mortality as Dotcom (Kevin Brown) and Grizz (Grizz Chapman) scramble to show him that life is still worth living. Meanwhile Jack is humiliated when a “businessversary” gift meant for Hank is sent to the wrong floor.

- Episode 6007 (Production number probably airing as 6.05.  No title yet.)

January 11th – Esquire interview with Robert Carlock

ESQ: So what’s up in season six?

RC: Well, it feels more like the first couple of seasons. When we started writing the show, there was a lot of experimentation with backstory. Then we spent a couple years consciously building a lot of things in the present — relationships, families, goals at work, and dynamics between characters. Now it feels like we have a lot more toys to play with. So the goal this year is to let those two motors run together.

ESQ: Does that mean more or less time inside the walls of 30 Rockefeller Plaza?

RC: More. We’ve got a lot of stories between our characters and back in our world. We’ll continue to tap into the toy chest of people we’ve built, like Will Arnett as Devon Banks and Dr. Spacemen. Kelsey Grammar comes back, too. There was an episode a couple years ago where he pulled a scam on Baskin-Robbins with Kenneth and Jenna. He comes back under similarly strange circumstances. So now we’re able to think, “Oh, we want to tell a Kenneth-and-Jenna story. We don’t put them together much.” And then we think, “Well, what if we pulled in Mr. Grammar for a couple days?” It’s fun to feel like that’s part of our world, too.

ESQ: I guess that’s the benefit of having done five seasons already.

RC: Exactly.

ESQ: Kristen Schaal’s addition to the cast couldn’t seem more appropriate.

RC: Yeah, she’s right from the island of broken toys. And just so funny. She comes in with some forward movement in Kenneth’s life. He has this realization, thanks to some input from Suze Orman, that he can’t afford to be friends with these people. So he decides to quit the NBC page program to pursue his ambition, which is being friends with everybody. Kristen comes in as his replacement, whom he needs to train. And she’s this weirdo who has decided maybe a little too late in life that she’s going to be famous, and she takes this as a first step to greatness. Of course, Kenneth will get knocked down and have to start all over again. It’s been fun to play with him out of his usual area. Eventually, he gets a job at network standards. Governing the moral output of NBC seemed like a natural fit for him.

January 11th – Huffington Post

They’ve incorporated [Morgan's rant] into the Tracy Jordan storyline,” MSNBC’s Thomas Roberts, who makes a cameo appearance on the show, said of a forthcoming episode. “Liz Lemon writes Tracy’s apology on the show and says he’s not a homophobe, he’s an idiot. That offends idiots, so while NBC is being picketed by the LBGT community, now it’s also being picketed by idiots led by Denise Richards. She’s the leader of the idiots.”

January 10th – EW

How fitting to have a Stone on a Rock: Emma Stone will make a cameo in an upcoming episode of 30 Rock, along with Andy Samberg and Nick Cannon, series creator-star Tina Fey tells EW.

In the Jan. 26 episode of the NBC comedy, Jenna (Jane Krakowski) stars in “a movie from the producers of Valentine’s Day and New Year’s Eve called Martin Luther King Day,” says Fey. “I want to lay claim to that bit before anyone gets it. It’s a movie that has everyone in the world in it.” That includes the aforementioned actors from The HelpSaturday Night Live, and Up All Night, who will be seen in a trailer for the faux film.

30 Rock, which kicks off its sixth season Thursday at 8 p.m., will also feature such guest stars as James Marsden, Mary Steenburgen, Will Arnett, Denise Richards, Kelsey Grammer, and Kristen Schaal.

December 31st – TV Guide

Season 6 finally kicks off after an extended hiatus (to make way for Tina Fey’s second child) with business as unusual at TGS. “Everyone is coming back from Christmas break, but something is going on with Liz,” says Fey (right.) “She’s uncharacteristically relaxed and happy, so Tracy [Tracy Morgan] decides to [spy on her] and deduces that she is a crack whore.” Clearly, he’s off base. “Tracy comes to the wrong conclusions a lot,” laughs executive producer Robert Carlock. But we will find out why Lemon is so peppy by the end of the opener. The new season will also see James Marsden in a hush hush six-episode arc, Jack sparking with Avery’s mother (Mary Steenburgen), Jenna taking a gig as the Simon Cowell-ish judge on NBC’s new hit, America’z Kidz Got Singing (“John McEnroe plays the sweet, Paula Abdul-ish judge,” reveals Fey) and the relocated comedy itself braving Thursday’s merciless 8/7c shift. Still, Carlock remains Rock stead. “We’ve been on in every time slot…we’re fearless!”

December 26th – Zap2it TV

S06E02: Idiots Are People Two!
A video of Tracy on an offensive rant leaks online; Jack refuses to approve of Liz’s boyfriend; Kenneth and Jenna turn to Kelsey Grammer for help.

November 18 – Vulture

We’ve missed 30 Rock, and we wish it didn’t have to come back to the NBC schedule by pushing Community out of its Thursday-at-8 p.m. berth (and potentially, out of the spring season entirely). Still, here’s some good news to ease the blow: The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that Daily Show correspondent Kristen Schaal has booked a multi-episode arc on 30 Rock when it returns, though it’s not yet clear whom she’ll play. And thus, The Daily Show pipeline to Thursday night NBC continues unabated. May it ever be so!

November 14 – TV Guide

Early next year, Kelsey Grammer will again play himself on NBC’s 30 Rock and get involved in a scheme orchestrated by Jenna and Kenneth, reuniting the “Best Friends Gang,” as dubbed by the trio themselves in Grammer’s first episode.

“This time the scam is much bigger,” Kelsey told me at a TV Academy event for his Starz series, Boss. “It’s the first time in history I pull a guy’s pants off.” The victim: TGS producer Pete (Scott Adsit).

30 Rock is also cooking up a one-hour episode that will flash back to a 6-year-old Jenna lip-synching in a talent show. Her song choice? Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On.” So wrong!

November 13 – Adam’s Tv Teasers

Episode 6.05

In the episode is Marty & Adam Goldstein, one a high powered accountant to the stars whilst the other is a spoiled 13 year old brat.
Also look out for a GE exec who gets far too excited by Jack’s presentation at a conference…

November 11 – John Riggi’s Twitter

Writer/Director John Riggi joins the long list of 30 Rock writers who get in front of the camera:

Just IN a scene with and a very famous lady actress. And AB was kind and great and generous and lady actress was very sweet.

November 8 – Huffington Post

But maybe now Marsden’s finally getting lucky — he’s guest starring alongside Tina Fey on “30 Rock” when it makes its mid-season return. However, the actor was terribly tight-lipped about his stint on the NBC comedy when asked at the Savannah Film Festival last week.

“I can’t tell you anything. I am doing a six-episode stint on the show, kind of like what Matt Damon did last year,” Marsden told The Huffington Post.

“I can’t tell you. I wish I could,” he added when asked whether his character will be dating Fey’s Liz Lemon. “Alec Baldwin is here. Ask him.”

Unfortunately, Baldwin had already left.

November 2 – Mary Steenburger to play Avery’s mother:

Mary Steenburgen has signed on to play the mother of Elizabeth Banks‘ character, reports Entertainment Weekly. Steenburgen will stick around for multiple episodes as Charlotte, Avery’s “highly spirited and attractive mother.”
Look for the ultra-WASPY Charlotte to clash with Irish Catholic Jack (Alec Baldwin).
Also cast in Season 6 of the NBC comedy are Denise Richards in an unknown role and James Marsden in a six-episode arc. Will Arnett will also stop by, reprising his role as Devon Banks.

October 5 -James Marsden to Guest

An X-Men star is coming to the halls of 30 Rock. EW has learned that James Marsden will appear in an episode (or two?) when the Emmy-winning comedy returns to NBC later this season. (We wish we had an exact date, but the Peacock doesn’t have one yet).

Speaking of which, NBC is also remaining tight-lipped about Marsden’s role — but we’d like to think he’d make a fine new lover for Liz Lemon. Last month, the comedy put out a casting call for a man ages 36-40 who can play Tina Fey’s latest love interest.

Here was the official description: “California-bred with liberal values and a youthful innocence. Easy-going but confident with a strong sense of self.”  The role would definitely involve a multiple-episode commitment.

Can you see a love connection between Liz and the hunk who played Cyclops?

October 5 -Denise Richards comes to 30 Rock

Denise Richards just tweeted that she’ll be appearing on the show when it returns in a few months. And we confirmed the news with NBC. “So excited!! I’m going to be doing an episode of #30Rock! one of my favorite shows!!!!!” If the word “excited” and the FIVE exclamation marks are any indication, it seems Denise is happy about her assignment.

October 4 – TV Guide

I don’t know how much of a spoiler this is because by this point you just expect him to make it to 30 Rock each season, but Will Arnett is returning as Devon Banks!

Even though Will Arnett stars in one NBC comedy and will take part in the recently announced Arrested Development reunion, that’s not stopping him from setting his sights on taking down Jack Donaghy.

Arnett will return to 30 Rock as gay shark and Jack’s nemesis, Devon Banks, TVGuide.com has learned.

A date for Arnett’s return has not yet been set, but the Arrested alum previously told us he’d love to see Banks get back on top after becoming a house husband with a gaggle of children.
