Streep On 30 Rock?

It looks like it was too good to be true after all. Alec Baldwin’s publicist has denied that Streep agreed to anything at the SAG Awards. Who knows though, the 30 Rock producers seem to attract everyone. But for now, there’s no plans for Streep to appear on 30 Rock. Original post is under the break. One of the best and most decorated actresses of all time might be heading to 30 Rock: “As they each beamed over their Sunday-night SAG wins, Alec Baldwin seized the opportunity to proposition a giddy Meryl Streep, inviting the two-time Oscar winner to appear on NBC’s 30 Rock. Well, Baldwin’s bid to strike while the iron was hot apparently was a hit. “Meryl was delighted with the idea,” an onlooker tells the New York Daily News. “She said yes immediately.” “ They have just a couple more episodes to write this season, so I might be held off until next season. What a perfect fit in my opinion. Streep is amazing with comedy. And what a way to close the season with a bang perhaps…?

Perfect roll for Streep:
Jenna’s mother who just happens to be an (ex)Broadway star, who comes back and tries to capitalize on Jenna’s “success.”
If they can get both of them to sing in an episode, that would be so many different kinds of awesome that TVs would explode.

I was thinking the same thing today. What if Streep played Jenna’s crazy and overbearing mother. All I can say is I want to go to there.

Fingers crossed this happens, whether this season or next (though fingers crossed for this). Before I even read any of the comments I thought to myself “she’s got to tag team with Jenna” – you NAILED it Matt.

I agree… Streep as Jenna’s mother. Maybe she would teach Jenna how to “act,” maybe get a scene like Alec’s when he acted like Tracy’s family… oh the possibilities

I was thinking the exact same thing about Streep being perfect to play Jenna’s batty, self-obsessed mother. We can only wait and see!
