UPDATE:  Tina IS Hosting SNL on April 10th!!! The musical guest that night will be Justin Bieber.  (…)  It’s unclear when the women in comedy special will be but at least Tina is getting her own show to host!

UPDATE:  A confusing update this time.  It looks like Tina is hosting the Women in comedy special.  It’s unclear whether or not she has her own episode too but it looks doubtful :(.   Also no word on Betty White yet.

 Contrary to rumor, the campaign to get Betty White to host Saturday Night Live has not yet triumphed, executive producer Lorne Michaels just told me. There will, however, be a separate Women in Comedy special in April with Tina Fey.

Earlier reports suggested White would share hosting duties with Fey, Amy Poehler, and Molly Shannon. But at a Tuesday night event co-hosted by The New Yorker and the Newhouse School, Michaels said White and the special were separate affairs, and that while the show is in talks with White, nothing is certain yet.

UPDATE: [2/21]  Ausiello is reporting that SNL is putting together a women of comedy special that would have multiple hosts including Betty White, Tina Fey, Molly Shannon and maybe Amy Poehler.  It is unclear whether Tina will be hosting her own show in addition to this Special a different week or if she was refering to the special in her previous comment to the Associated Press.  Stay tuned for details.

NEW YORK — Tina Fey tells The Associated Press that she’ll probably reprise her impression of Sarah Palin when she hosts “Saturday Night Live” in April.

Fey said this week that “it’s inevitable that we’ll try it, at least.” She says “we’ll see if it makes it to air.”

Ah!  I can’t wait for her to host again!  This makes sense since she’ll be promoting her movie Date Night.
